About the Principal Civil/Structural Engineer:
Engr. Jerry B. Maratas is a Structural Engineer based in Cebu with more than ten (15) years of design experience. He’s been involved as a structural design engineer and consultant to more than 2000 projects mostly in Metro Cebu area. He is a recognized Specialist in Structural Engineering by the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE).
Engr. Maratas is also active in the academe as a faculty member of the Civil Engineering Department of the prestigious University of San Carlos (USC) and as a former reviewer (for 10 years) at the Besavilla Engineering Review Center (BERC). At USC, he handled structural engineering subjects both in the undergraduate and graduate levels while at BERC, he handled structural and engineering mathematics subjects.
Engr. Maratas obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at the University of San Carlos as the top of his batch. He finished his Master’s degree with specialization in Structural Engineering as an academic scholar sponsored by CHED. He placed 13th in the November 2001 CE Licensure Examination with an average score of 92.90%.
Engr. Maratas is a Regular Member of the prestigious Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines (ASEP). He is also a Life Member of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) and a member of the Board of Directors of PICE-Cebu Chapter. He is also an accredited Master Trainer for Seismic Retrofitting of Buildings by the University of the Philippines-National Engineering Center and the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
